Greetings! I'm Lara Selene Scott, a dedicated practitioner offering compassionate listening, nature talk and walk services. With a deep commitment to supporting others on their healing journeys, I draw upon a diverse range of experiences and training to create transformative experiences in nature.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and am completing a Master's in Counseling with a specialization in Nature Therapy. Also, my training with the Compassionate Listening Project in Israel/Palestine has equipped me with the skills to hold space for open and empathetic dialogue, promoting understanding and healing in challenging situations, and across political, religious, and cultural differences. I'm a dedicated practitioner of Nonviolent Communication, which enhances my ability to facilitate compassionate conversations and foster authentic connections.
To expand my understanding of spiritual direction and the benefits of regular retreats, I completed a three-year program with The Leadership Institute, enriching my practice with a holistic approach to self-discovery and inner guidance.
In my journey as a compassionate listener, I have had the privilege of providing emotional healing sessions in both California and Cairo, Egypt. This cross-cultural experience has broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
On a personal level, I bring a profound empathy and understanding to my work as I have personally navigated numerous major transitions and losses throughout my life. Having lived in over 40 different homes and experienced diverse cultures, I understand the challenges of adapting to new environments. I have also confronted significant losses of loved ones through death and separation, and I have personally experienced divorce, childhood, and adult trauma. Furthermore, I have undergone major transitions in jobs, education, culture, religion, and even made a full recovery from a stroke. These experiences have shaped my compassionate approach and deepened my ability to hold space for others as they navigate painful or challenging life transitions.
